So, we’re guessing that “you know a guy” who plays Fortnite, the world’s most popular online game. With over 125 million players, Fortnite generated $318M in revenue in the month of May alone. Apparently, there is a new V-bucks (the currency of Fortnite) generator that seems like a run-of-the-mill cheating hack, but it’s actually malware in disguise. This nasty little piece of adware can do a number of your PC so it’s worth double-checking to make sure you, or um, your kids, haven’t inadvertently installed it on your computer.
Turns out the best way to prevent yourself from such malware is to avoid game cheats, hack tools or patches altogether. Want more in-game currency? Just do it the old-fashioned way…play it and win it. Your kids, that is.
