Got your attention? Us too. This week, the Wall Street Journal had a fascinating story about Toomas Hendrik Ilves. If you’ve heard of him, you should have picked “Geography for $1,000, Mr. Trebek.” Ilves was president of Estonia for 10 years, but now he’s retired from state business and instead he’s at Stanford as a visiting fellow studying technology and cybersecurity.
According to Ilves, we need to keep our eyes open (and white hats hacking) in order to avoid a potential coming Cyber Pearl Harbor. This guy knows what he’s doing. Under his watch, Estonia became one of the world’s most high-tech governments while at the same time contending with a massive cyberattack, believed to be from Russia.
