A cybersecurity Capture the Flag (CTF) event is a competitive hacking event or exercise designed to challenge the participants’ problem-solving, coding, and cybersecurity skills. These events are often styled as games or competitions and can be held online or in person.

Presented by the UCCS College of Business and sponsored by Deloitte, this event is open to all UCCS students, faculty and staff as well as community members interested in learning more about space, cybersecurity, and developments in this ever-evolving industry. Hear from esteemed experts from the aerospace, defense, and intelligence community as they discuss how space policy influences national security, infrastructure, and more. There will also be an opportunity to meet and connect with local space-cyber community members during a reception following the event.

Hey.. I need your help URGENTLY! I bought that old brewery in town – yeah, the one everyone says is haunted… Turns out it is ACTUALLY HAUNTED! All of our equipment is going crazy, and we need you to help us get up an running… Can you bring your laptop and get rid of the ghosts in the machines? I hope so, or we’re sunk! **click** Join us for a spooky Cyber Capture the Flag event with a twist! Solve challenges and disturb the spirits to trigger ghost encounters! Defeat them to help catapult your team to the top of the leaderboard!

The Cyber Day of Service will feature 45 freshmen from the Cybersecurity and Computer Science Department of UCCS, alongside industry professionals, providing personalized cyber hygiene and IT safety training. The event is tailored to older adults and individuals unfamiliar with technology but is open to everyone. Through hands-on learning experiences, participants will gain practical skills in protecting themselves from cyber threats.
