White hat hackers, start your engines (or, um, computers). As the stakes are raised for security breaches, big companies are paying more to get a leap on the bad guys. Last week, Microsoft announced a new “bug bounty program” for bug hunters and researchers finding vulnerabilities in its “identity services,” aka authentication, sign-ons, sessions, API security and other identity solutions. Microsoft is offering up to $100K for research-based submissions that will help the tech giant reproduce, understand, and the fix the issues. The amount of the bounty rewarded will reflect the level of impact and quality of the report. So grab some Red Bull and get hacking!
