How We Started
The National Cybersecurity Center was established in 2016 by Colorado House Bill 16-1453, signed by then-Governor John Hickenlooper, to combat a surge in cyber-attacks against public, private, and nonprofit entities, as well as individuals.
These challenges still hold true today and the National Cybersecurity Center itself has grown into a thriving hub of cyber leadership, collaboration, and education.
What We've Done
PISCES Program2024
Trained 203 student analysts who identified 1,683 potential threats and reported 556 viable threats, enhancing cybersecurity for 447,000 Coloradans. Supported 14 SLTT organizations through impactful data-sharing partnerships.
Critical Infrastructure National Economic Security Program2024
The CINES program is leveraging AI-driven technology to map all 16 U.S. Critical Infrastructure sectors, enhancing risk management and interagency coordination. In 2024, the NCC piloted a solution to map Colorado’s water infrastructure, empowering decision-makers with critical economic and cybersecurity data to strengthen security.
Haunted Brewery2024
Engaged 800 participants globally in an interactive cybersecurity challenge.
Cyber for State Leaders2021
