Security Tips for Travelers

Well, it’s time to dust off your Birkenstock’s and get your passports ready. As we head into the summer travel season, we thought it might be good to share a few tips for how to stay cyber-safe on the road.

For starters, you might want to consider avoiding public Wi-Fi. We know that updating your hip Instagram feed is a lot easier at the trendy coffee shop, but the truth is that it doesn’t take much for hackers to get their hands on your data, keystrokes and personal info. Yikes. Oh and while you’re at it, be cautious of the shared office space at hotels and resorts. It’s easy for your personal information to get stored and compromised.

We know it’s a bummer and we love our wireless headphones, but bluetooth is still an easy way for hackers to take control of your device when you least expect it. Just keep that in mind as you’re jammin’ out. Finally, don’t use your personal device for business if you can avoid it. It could put not only your info at risk but also your company’s. It’s vacation, after all. Unplug and recharge.
