Time to get out your list of go to password combos. You know…birthdate, graduation year, high school football number, your spouse’s initials, your favorite team. Why, you ask? Well, a few days ago, Twitter put out an all points bulletin for users to “immediately change their passwords” due to a software glitch that unintentionally exposed user passwords. Oops. That’s 330 million passwords. It’s safe to say that it’s been a bit of a scramblefest over at the Bird.
Twitter alerted users in an official blog post and a series of tweets from Twitter Support. The cyber-wonks at the social media giant are assuring us that while it’s still a good idea to change your password, the problem is under control now. OK, time for me to go change all my passwords now that I’ve tipped my password-hand.
