Twitter Passwords Exposed

Time to get out your list of go to password combos. You know…birthdate, graduation year, high school football number, your spouse’s initials, your favorite team. Why, you ask? Well, a few days ago, Twitter put out an all points bulletin for users to “immediately change their passwords” due to a software glitch that unintentionally exposed user passwords. Oops. That’s 330 million passwords. It’s safe to say that it’s been a bit of a scramblefest over at the Bird.

Twitter alerted users in an official blog post and a series of tweets from Twitter Support. The cyber-wonks at the social media giant are assuring us that while it’s still a good idea to change your password, the problem is under control now. OK, time for me to go change all my passwords now that I’ve tipped my password-hand.
